Love Is Hard Chapter 3


     Jack woke up the next morning thinking about Jesse. "What's wrong with me?" he asked himself. "I know it'll never happen, so why should I think about it." he thought. "Oh well, it's good to dream." he said. "I should probably be getting ready, I've got work today." Jack got dressed and went out to his car, still thinking about Jesse, wondering what was wrong with him.
     Later that day, Jack got home from work. "I bet Mel is having a ball with her new boyfriend." He said. "God, I'm so miserable without her, she was the only thing I thought about everyday. Then she decided to hurt me some more with not wanting to at least be my friend." he thought. "It isn't fair, why do I have to get hurt, she doesn't realize how painful it is being without her." he said to himself. "Oh well, better get some rest." Jack said, and then he headed off to bed.
     The next day, Jack got up. It was his day off today, so he thought he'd visit Jesse. "Maybe talking to her today will get her off my mind." he said. Then he got into his car and drove over to her house. He knocked on her door, and she answered. "Hi Jesse, may I come in?" he asked. "Sure! I'll get us some coffee." she said. Jack walked in and sat down.
     They sat and talked until night came and Jack had to leave. "You know Jesse, you're a really special person to me, and I care a lot about you." Jack said. Jesse blushed, and opened the door. "Well you're a really special person to me too Jack, and you deserve more than you get." Jesse replied. Then Jack went out the door to his car and drove off.
     Jack arrived home and sat in his chair. "My god, I love her." he said. "I don't believe it, I never would've thought, but the only problem is, I don't think it would work." he thought. Jack sighed and thought to himself the odds of Jesse going for him. "Well she did say I was special to her." he thought to himself. "Maybe it would work. I'm not that attractive though, and I don't think she'd go for me, I just barely got Mel to be my girlfriend." he said to himself. "I guess we'll have to see. I'll talk to her about it once I stop being afraid of talking about it at all." he said. "I guess we'll have to see."
